Never have I had such stark white OPK's. Usually I can see at least a faint line.
Nada. Nothing. Zip. Zero.
Oddly, the CBEFM is still reading "High," so we will see what happens. I was guessing a Monday insemination, but with white OPK's..I'm second guessing.
I just have to ovulate before NKD goes out of town. It will happen. I am confident.

CD11
Today I rec'd my first "High" on the CBEFM. For those of you that do not use it, a "normal" person can have anywhere between 3-5 days of "High" before the "Peak" arrives. However, I've never been quite normal. Even while on the Clo.mid (Jenny-I put the periods in brand names so people who search for clo.mid or kro.ger or anything brand-related do not arrive at my blog), I had more than 5 "High" days.
On 50mgs, I didn't ovulate in time, (or possibly at all) but I had "High" readings until I stopped taking them, from CD10-CD17.
On 100mgs, I had "Highs" from CD9-CD15, before getting a "Peak" on CD16 and ovulating on CD17.
So given all of that information, we are still in a bit of a waiting pattern. I will continue to OPK every afternoon. So far it's been completely start white, but time will tell. I am thinking that we may be able to do our first insem on Monday evening. (That is, of course if I am interpreting my body and charts right and if our donor is available.)

Bummer
I was checking my goo.gle reader and accidentally hit "mark all as read." Now I don't know which blogs I haven't read. Totally bummed. I love reading the "baby" blogs after work.
Guess I will just be out of the loop for today. Hopefully I don't miss any big announcements!
In our TTC news, today is CD9. The first official day of peeing on sticks. Love it! CBEFM said low today (as expected) and I am sure the OPK later this evening will be blank too. Tomorrow may be a different story though...every day is a new one!

CD2
Well here I am on the second day of the cycle that worked and I am home sick with cramps and the stomach issues I have been having for the last 4 days.
I haven't been able to eat much of anything, which is awesome for the diet, but not good for my body.
I am uncomfortable all day. I could handle it when it was just the stomach bug, but the bug and the cramps..no way.
I called in today at 3am when I woke up in pain. I wanted to be there so badly today to watch the inauguration with my class. I wanted to use the teaching moment. I wanted to make it memorable for them and me. Instead, I will watch alone, in my pjs, on my heated recliner.

In tune with my body
I am very proud of the fact that I am becoming more in tune with my body. I am being more mindful of my eating and listening to my body's signals. Because of this, I knew that FF was wrong with my ovulation date. Also because of this, I knew that I would have a temp dip this morning and start this cycle sometime today.
So, since the crazy medical community starts counting pregnancy from the LMP, I am assuming I will bleed sometime today and can officially count myself pregnant starting then.
I dusted off the old CBEFM and will begin with the OPKS around CD11. My best guess is I will ovulate around CD21/CD22 and we will do 2-3 inseminations with our new donor.
I'm so excited. I just wish B was feeling better. She has all the symptoms of a peptic ulcer. Ouch. She is going to call our doctor today.

Monday's Appointment
I was very excited about our RE appointment on Monday, but left feeling very disappointed and discriminated against.
The Reader's Digest version is this:
RE won't do monitored cycles without NKD jumping through a few hoops first, one of which includes attending a therapy session! (B and I already fulfilled this requirement when we started since we would be the parents.) I kept reiterating the fact that she would have no contact with the sperm and we would do all of the inseminations at home, all I wanted was the ovulation induction and the ultrasound monitoring. No go. She did say (flippantly, might I add) that I could get the Clo.mid from my Ob/Gyn. She upped my dose of met.formin and said that perhaps that would regulate my cycles on their own. Whatev, lady.
So I think we are going to do this minus the RE. I will monitor myself with temps, OPKs, CM, CBEFM, and possibly the ferning test as well. I have all at my disposal.
I still have to email NKD and tell him all of this...
We were both a little angry when we left there and I needed a day to process all of the information. I can understand she needs to cover her own a$$, but I still feel like there are more hoops that usual to jump through here.
Currently I am on CD51. FF said I O'ed on CD46 (on my own), but I am not sure if I believe it looking at the chart. I didn't do any OPK's or anything this month, and will hop back on the CBEFM once CD1 arrives. We can do this by ourselves. I know we can and we will.
BLC (Biggest Loser Club-group I started at work for weight loss): Our first weigh in after a week of exercising and eating right was yesterday. Together (12 of us) lost over 70 pounds! I lost 7 and my team mate lost 8.4 Together, we won the first week's kitty, $30 each! I know the first week is when you lose the most and I shouldn't expect that much each time, but it sure felt good!

In.stead Cups
What is your experience with In.stead cups?
This is coming from someone who has worn like 2 tampons her entire life...
I bought a box of 24, and we plan on practicing, but I'm a little scared.

Signed, Sealed, and Delivered!
We are officially on our way to creating life in 2009. Woot!
I will call the RE's office today to schedule a blood test, and then hopefully they will let me hop right onto Clo.mid on CD4. The last time I was there was in August and I haven't had any ultrasounds since then, so I am fearful I am going to have to go through the whole HSG again. Not that it was a bad experience, or anything, I just want to jump into this with both feet, and soon!
I know that God has perfect timing though, and if we are meant to go through testing and delay until next month, we will.
Lucky for us, we have a wonderful donor on board. Hooray.

New Donor
Today we meet our PNKD, which, after today, will be hopefully be our NKD. We will get the contract signed and deliver his artwork that I have been working on. I will post a picture soon of what the final product ended up looking like.
I have been temping for the last week or so and have been very good about keeping up wiht my vitamins and Met.formin. I haven't been doing any OPKs or CBEFM sticks though. I ordered more OPKs and some instead cups online a few days ago and am eager to start peeing on sticks. However, I woke up today with a temp shift of +0.6 and my insides are on fire. I only feel this way when I am a) sick with a fever, or b) in my luteal phase. I don't feel sick, so perhaps I ovulated? on my own? the day before we get our donor contract signed? That would be a weird coincidence.
Of course, only time will tell and if I didn't O, then I will be calling the RE's office tomorrow to schedule an unnecessary blood test to confirm I am not pregnant (since I am CD42), and then on to the Clom.id. If I did O, then I wait the 2 weeks for the blood and then call the RE. Either way, we are well on our way to making a 2009 baby!

First post of 2009!
Happy New Year Y'all!
B and I started our new year with a very cathartic ritual at our church. This was our first time attending a Burning Bowl ceremony and it was pretty amazing.
After singing, reflection, and meditation, attendees write down everything they want to leave in 2008 on a little piece of flash paper. As the music plays, the congregation makes their way to the front of the church with their flash papers in hand. (This moves much like communion in Catholic or Lutheran churches that I have been to). In the front of the church are two giant urns filled with sand and candles. Each person releases their flash paper into the flames and whoosh. It is gone. No ashes or anything, just gone. You can imagine how empowering it is to see all of your worries and transgressions flash away in a ball of fire in front of you.
Once everyone has released their flash paper into the fire, they return back to their seats and meditate on what they want in 2009. Then they write a list of affirmations. The church has offered to take our affirmations and mail them back to us in 9 months to see where we are on our lists. B and I looked at each other and giggled at the 9 months part.
Later, I will make a page of my (and B's if she wants) affirmations on this blog so I can be reminded of them during my computer time.
Once we returned home from church, our friend (and former KD) and his girlfriend came over to ring in the new year, a tradition we have had for the past 4-5 years. It's very low key with good food and fun games, just the way I like it.
On the TTC front: CD40, still no detected ovulation. (Of course, I just stopped bleeding on CD22, so this cycle is whack.)
