It's Spring time once again and there is no better place to be. Time to indulge ourselves with nature’s most beautiful shows in the NSW Southern Highlands, the Bowral Tulip Festival. Every year the Bowral Corbett Garden as well as local parks and playgrounds explode with masses of colour as 100,000 tulips and 25,000 flowering annuals bloom into life this Spring.

We never want to miss this great opportunity to witness this beautiful tulip display so every year we schedule a trip down to the Southern Highlands. It was so windy and bone-chilly cold out there when we arrived, unlike the temperature in our place. Our clothes were not warm enough for such type of weather because I didn't realize how the weather was down there on that day, that’s why we didn’t stay much longer. But even though the weather wasn’t cooperative enough it never stop the people to flock and witness the spectacular colour and beauty of tulips.

The Train Shed

These are just some of the pictures I took during our latest visit to The Train Shed. Since David and hubby are both train enthusiast, we made a few trips there this year and every visit was always something special. There is always a buzz of excitement every time I mention to the kids our visit. It is open on weekends and public school holidays. Hubby also is subscribing e-mail newsletter from them to keep us updated of the coming events and news. Even though it is a fair drive from where we live but its worth a trip. We always have a good time. Our last visit was during when our friends visited our place for few days holiday. We took them to The Train Shed because their kids are train enthusiast too and wanted to experience the train ride. So here they are …."ALL ABOARD…Choooo-Choooo!!! "……..

Ensaymada

My craving has set in again and this time is ensaymada (a Filipino sweet bread made with butter topped with grated cheese, butter and sugar). And to satisfy my craving I bought a pack from one of the Filipino bakeries here. I am not a big fan of it but from time to time I miss savoring it with a cup of coffee especially in the afternoon.

Love is in the air...

Spring is not only for many people to enjoy, plants to rebirth, flowers to bloom but it is also nesting time for most of the birds.

Family Fun Day

A day such as this is hard to resist especially we have kids who love outdoor activities. We are always on the look out of anything around within our reach that pleases them. Since Penrith is not far from where we live, every year we don't miss to bring ourselves to join the fun. It's a free family fun day for everyone with live entertainments, animal farm, close-encounter with Australian reptiles, jumping castles and many more, and the great thing too was that every household can take 2 native seedlings for free. As a plant lover, I didn't miss that great opportunity offered for buying such kind of plant is expensive. I like planting native plants in our backyard for they are bird attracting and it is a way of encouraging native birds to stop by at our place.

One of the activities that attracted more the kids' attention was the Circus Workshop. It was their first encounter with it since we started attending the family fun day. And like many other kids, Dorothy and David had a great time trying most of what were inside the workshop and one thing that interest them more was the stilt. Their first time on it and obviously, was a hard one, trying and keeping their balance. In the end, Dorothy was able to move about 10 steps. Good on her. But David on the other hand, barely moved a step. He still needs more and more practice though.. :)Please scroll down for more pictures.

Time here is past 11:00 pm and I am still up, but my eyes are really drooping with sleep. Hubby and the kids have been sound asleep drifting to their dreamland. I was having a big day actually, spent most of it in the Medical Center for another check up and test. Nothing to be alarmed as nothing is serious. Thank God!

David the Lion

When David attended a birthday party of one of his classmates held in Hungry Jack last night, I never thought that he had the nerve to try on a face painting. He never tried it before even if Dorothy, my daughter, is a fan of it that she never let a chance that comes her way slip away without having it. He just watched his big sister letting her face be painted. There were a few times that I tried to convince him to have his face painted with his favourite character available but never succeeded at all. He never said anything as to why except that, I dont like it, was his only reply. But this is something different and something new to us now..hehehe. The moment I saw his face painted, I was surprised and excited and can't help myself but to grab my camera to take pictures of him. He really liked it when I asked him and didn't even wash his face until he went to bed.
