Swimming carnival

Yesterday was MT D Zone Swimming Carnival and Dorothy, my daughter represented her school in the girls 14-15 yr old 50m breaststroke race and she came 2nd place. She was also in the girls 200 relay team and they came 2nd place as well. Her school took first place overall in the ranking. Well done, and congratulations.

Tennis comp

We have finally decided to let Dorothy join a junior competition (Division 1) for this term and last Thursday was her first competition. She played a single match first but unfortunately, Lady Luck wasn't with her. She lost in the match but won in the double match. Dorothy didn't look comfortable though during the single match, I think because she was in the new court and her first time being in the comp. Most of her serves were out. During the double match, she looked more comfortable and did well. Her double pair was her friend in the Friday tennis lesson.

An egg

While I was out for a morning stroll around our suburb the other day, I saw a small white egg on the ground. I couldn't exactly determine if it belong to a bird or lizard or something. I checked the small tree near it but couldn't see any nest. I just left it on the ground and continue my stroll.

Can't decide yet

I received a call from one of the coaches of Dorothy's tennis school early this week that they want Dorothy to join a competition this term. It was already the third time they rang us. I know Dorothy is very interested to join a competition but I am not so sure if I let her. I have to talk to her tennis coaches first. Dorothy is doing two tennis lessons a week this term as a training for her competition next term. The competition is every Thursday until 8:00 pm, I don't really like the schedule because it falls on a week nights which is held about 15 minutes drive from where we live. However, letting her to join a competition will also help improve her tennis ability and confidence in the court. Oh, well, we really need to do a careful thinking about this matter.

Red apples

While I was shopping at Woolies last Australia Day, ( 26 January 2012), the lady at the cash register asked me if I want some apples. I thought she was just joking so I asked her just to make sure, is it for free? .. and she replied with a smile, yes, it's free and how many do you want? And I asked her again, are you sure? lol... and she replied, yes, I am sure.... well , who can say no to these beautiful apples. I was given 8 big red apples. Thank you Woolies..

Forgot his lunchbox

When I came back after taking David to school, I saw his lunch box and drink bottle were still on the table and thought to go back to school to give them to him but then I realised that they have already started their lesson and I didn't want to interrupt even if it was important. So I decided to go there on their first recess instead which was 11:15 am and cancelled my plan to go to the shop. Sigh..when can David learn to prepare and check his things before going to school, he was lucky that I didn't work. He still needs to be reminded all the time.

Swimming

Last weekend, I took David to the shop with me to do our weekly grocery shopping and promised him that we would go to my friend's house for a swim after. Dorothy and her friends were already at my friend's place since morning because she was invited by my friend's daughter to come there earlier to spend the day with her which was fine with me. While sorting out the things that we bought when we arrived, I told David to change into his swimming cosies which he did without arguing. When we finished, we headed off to my friend's house. David went straight to the pool. He was alone swimming because the girls were just finished swimming when we arrived and were already inside the house watching a movie. Even if he was alone swimming he still had a great time in the pool

Pavlova

Before Christmas, Dorothy asked me if we can make a pavlova for Christmas. She loves pavlova so much and really wanted to have pavlova as one of our desserts after our Christmas lunch. Since I would be busy on that day, I just promised her to buy a pavlova base from Woolies and let her do the topping . I just bought the fruits that she loved to use as the topping and whipped the fresh cream for her.And here is her yummy pavlova.

Medical results

I got my medical results yesterday and Thanks to Almighty God for hearing my prayers, everything turned out normal. I underwent medical examinations which I booked two weeks ago because of my health problem. While waiting for the day to come, I couldn't help myself but felt worried of what maybe the result. I only prayed and trust everything to God that everything will be all right. I was glad that the lady who attended me in the Imaging Centre was so nice which helped me to relax a little all throughout the procedures. Since the results weren't available until 2:00 pm on that day, I went straight home and just came back later in the afternoon to pick up the results and from there, I went straight to my GP to have her explain the results to me. I was so relieved and happy when she told me that there's nothing to worry about, everything is fine.

Last minute booking

I rang Dorothy's Tennis School head coach one morning to inquire if there is still available place for Friday's tennis lesson because Dorothy wanted to do a lesson twice a week (Saturday and Friday) . It was a last minute decision and I immediately inquired about the place the moment me and hubby decided about it. I was glad that I was able to get a place from 5:30pm to 6:30 pm every Friday, so Dorothy is doing two hours tennis lesson every week now.

Dorothy's Swimming Carnival

Dorothy was so excited for today was their annual Swimming Carnival. It was her first time to participate in this event since she started High School because last year, she was not able to participate because that was the time she hurt her wrist but was able to be there as a spectator only. The venue of the event was at the pool close to where we live. Anyway, she came first place in the 50m breaststroke but last in the 50m freestyle. Well done, Dorothy! So proud of you.
