Yesterday

I was having a bad day yesterday for I couldn't start my car  when I was about to take my little boy to school. I turn on the key many times but to no avail and reached to a point of giving up. I told my boy that we should walk to school otherwise he will be late. Anyways, the school is just about 2 blocks away from where we live and thankfully, we arrived just on time, just a few minutes before the assembly bell rung.
After I took my little boy to school I asked my very good friend who dropped off her kids to school too, if she can do me a favour to drop me off to the train station so I can catch the  train from there, because I have to meet my sister in the mall on that morning. . While I was in the train, I rang hubby, hopping he will be awake by that time, and informed him about the car. He checked it right away after we talked  and found out that my car had a flat battery and found out too that one of the passenger's doors was not properly shut. I was wondering how did it happen . Then I remembered that the last time I used the car was when I picked up David from a party on Saturday afternoon. His hands were full at that time becuase of the party bag, toys and give aways that he got from the party and didn't able to close the door properly without saying anything to me.

Orchid blooms

We are on our final month of winter and the days are getting warmer with some nights are still very cold.
I have a few cymbidium orchids planted in pots and most of them have buds this time. One  has already opened its buds. See how beautiful the flowers are.

Pegions

Taking a walk in  Woodcroft Lake can be so relaxing, that is what I will do every Monday while my daughter is doing her tennis lesson there. And one thing that I don't want to forget  is my pocket size camera, yes, I always make it sure I carry it with me, so I can take photos to whatever draw my attention. The sunset can be spectacular there from the front deck, which  I  always look forward to see everytime we go there. Anyways, while waiting for the sunset on that afternoon, these pigeons caught my attention. They are perching on a lamp post waiting for someone to give them a feed.

I saw this red rose in one of my morning walks around our neighborhood.

Spotted doves

Looking through the glass window of  our kitchen one morning, I saw these two spotted doves  perching on our fence. Also known as the spotted turtle doves. They were intoduced into Australia in the mid-1800s. They are lovely birds and very common in our front/backyard.

At the city

Here are some photos that I took while me and my little boy visited the city the other weekend. Every time we visit the city I want to make it sure that I have my pocket size camera with me for I love to take some snaps to share with you.

Hope you like my photos.  HAVE A GREAT DAY ALWAYS.

Camera Critters

This was during our visit to Chinese Garden when a  brown pigeon suddenly  came up to us making noises as if asking for food. I hurriedly grabbed my camera out from my bag to take photos and glad I was able to take one before he flew away. He was so quick.

My David's b-day

It was his 9th b-day last month. Unlike his previous b-days, we decided not to give him a birthday party because last year he had a big birthday party attended by most of  his close friends from his school.
On his birthday we went out and bought him some presents that he liked. Then we watched a movie. I bought him a b-day cake and something  for lunch too. His Auntie and Uncle, and cousin, Maddie came by to join us on his simple b-day celebration.

While we were at the mall, there was a face painting for free and since he loves face painting, he asked if he can have it, of course I can't say no to my little boy, it is his birthday after all. It is not Halloween yet, but he chose a skeleton face paint..hehehe
His birthday cake.
At the backyard with his cousin, Maddie.

I can't believe my baby boy has grown so fast but he is still my baby.

Tomato and cucumber salad

This was sometime last February when I was flooded with cherry tomatoes from the garden. I was trying to figure out what can I do with my tomatoes. I couldn't dried them during those times because it was raining. I thought to make pickled tomatoes but I couldn't get a chance. Then a friend of mine suggested to try  tomato and cucumber salad, and so I did. It was my first time to try it and I fell in love with it. I thought hubby wouldn't love it but glad he did but the kids didn't like it.
It's simple, light and refreshing.
Ingredients:
cherry tomatoes
cucumber
onion
garlic
olive oil
malt vinegar
a sprinkle with parsley
