Scrapping catchup

I have been scrapping my little heart out this weekend playing catchup on all the Challenge Masters challenges. I think I might frame this first one - I am so chuffed at how it turned out.

Melbourne & Tasmania

What a whirlwind trip I had. After a one hour delay in Cairns I finally arrived in Melbourne to nice cold, dry, sunny weather. Just what the doctor ordered after such a wet humid hot summer up here.

So off to the Hilton at the airport to spend the night with my bestie. This was the room and view. Awesome!
After ripping it up PJ O'Brien's at the terminal, we went back for a swim, sauna and steam room. Just what we needed after a few drinks. After a bit of room service for dinner, we both bombed out for 8 hours. Next morning it was breakfast with Anne in the restaurant for a girlie catchup.
After a lunchtime flight to Hobart, Ryan and I headed out to the historic town of Richmond. Just as I remembered it. And when in Tassie do as the Taswegians do - we had devonshire tea here.
Friday morning we jumped in the car and headed off towards Launceston. We stopped in Oatlands for brekky and took a photo at the Cannington Mill.
Another quick stop at Ross to see the famous convict-built bridge
Driving, driving, driving.
After lunch in Launceston, it was off to the Tamar Valley for Ryan to do some wine tasting.
and to monkey around in the vineyards
We stayed at Tamar Valley Resort in Grindlewald which was so serene and pretty.
Then back to Hobart where walked to the Salamanca Markets and I finally found some fresh raspberries. So back to the unit for some fresh fruit.
After leaing Hobart, it was time for lunch in Sunbury between flights. here's Kim and I.
It was great to see Andrea after over a year.
And here's my bridal party 3 years on.
And my god, these kids are growing up.
and Megans looking good.
Gee I feel short.
Then at 4m it was back to the airport to catch one of two flights back to Cairns. Flight had to circle on the way to Sydney and I had to run to the Cairns plane as they held it for the transferring passengers. Back home by 10pm. Phew. need to slow down these trips.

I hate Cairns

Sitting at the hair dressers getting my hair straightened. Yay. Need the pampering.

Wet rainy depressing week here. Cardwell and Tully are cut off which means empty supermarkets again. And another big builder just went bust.

House is starting to stink musty and mouldy.

God. I'm really starting to hate this town. I can't wait to get outta here. It's dying a slow death. Cam is struggling to find work, just like every other unemployed person in Cairns.

Can you tell I'm in a mood?! :-)

Kraft It Up Challenge

I decided to use the Kraft It Up challenge to scrap the photos Ryan sent me from Tasmania. He went on a fishing charter and caught (and released) shark and also salmon (which he kept). he was a bit chuffed.

White with 1 Challenge

With pink being my favourite colour, there was no way I could not do the challenge over at White with 1.

March Scrapjacked

This is my entry for the March Scrapjacked Challnege. I chose to jack Sarah's layout. DOn't you just love the look on his face?!

Where did the weekend go?!

Busy weekend this weekend. Was up and out of the house by 7.30am on Saturday to drive up to Malanda on the Tablelands for the monthly scrappy day with Mel, Vicki and co. First time I've driven up the Gillies Ranges in the rocket (for those who dont know what the Gillies is, think windy steep roads to the snow fields). The rocket did really well in 3rd gear all the way to the top, but did struggle a bit on hilly bits. Got two layouts done and got home about 4.30pm.

Then stupidly stayed up in bed watching telly til 11.30pm. But holy heck, I slept til 1pm today!! The only reason I woke up is because Cam banged on the door telling me to get my lazy butt outta bed. So by the time I got focused on my day, it was already over.

Very miserable weather and storms though, Kimmy got the shakes of fright again. We are expecting 300mm tomorrow due to being on the south side of the low that was going to be named Errol if he decided to form into a cyclone. There is still a potential cyclone out at sea so we will have to wait and see what happens there.

Off to Tassie in 10 days, should be good.
