Antenatal, birthday and dinner

Busy busy day.  Ryan gave me my card and a Kindle for my birthday, and Sue gave me my favourite perfume.  Then we had the second antenatal class.  After a quick lunch of Hungry Jacks, Darlene came over and we got stuck into cooking and decorating for tomorrow's baby shower.

Then it was off for dinner at Hogs Breath where we ran into Sally.  A good day and night.  Roll on tomorrow.
Aaawww.  Kimmy and Darlene.

Last day in Melbourne

After some retail therapy at Watergardens with Kim yesterday, it was time to go back to Mum and Dads today to get ready to go home tomorrow.  As you can see, there is not a chance in hell of bringing Gizmo back to Qld if we wanted to or not.  He is very muchly my dad's cat now.  He's very happy and settled in Melbourne.

At age 3, Jacob knows how to use a laptop

Awesome cot quilt mum made

Mum is getting a kick out of making baby stuff.  She has created this cot quilt from a panel.  This photo doesn't do it justice.  Can't wait to use it in June.

Melbourne Baby Shower at 27 weeks

After a very early flight to Melbourne from Mt Gambier, Cameron was at the airport to meet me.  Was good to see him as I hadnt caught up with him since first week of January.

Today Mum has organised a baby shower.  It was awesome to see my friends.  I had a couple hundred years of friendships chalked up in the front room.  From knowing Anna and Janet for 35 years, to knowing Kim 21 years, Anne for 14 years, to Carol and Nevenka and Joanne for 12 years, the Richardsons for 10 years, and Tanya for around 6 (Ithink) it was very emotional and overwhelming.

Everyone was so generous - too generous - with gifts for bub.  I appreciate each and every gift from everyone.  Getting it all home took a great logistical equation (I took 6kg, I posted 8kg, and Ryan will pick up 8kg next week) but we got there.

Its days like this which make me miss my friends in Melbourne more and more.

Weekend at Port Macdonnell

We had a great weekend at Port Macdonnell.  Deena and Lorrin have a holiday house there that they let us use.  Ryan did some beach fishing, I did some relaxing (and showing off of belly at 26 weeks and 5 days).

The Monssens then came down Sunday for a pub lunch so it was a chance for a couple of quick photos before going our separate ways.  Love these guys!

Back to the apartment to pack as I have a 6.30am flight to Melbourne tomorrow morning.

The famous Blue Lake

This lake is sooooo freaky!!!!! You drive up a hill, come round a corner and you are hit with the sight of bright electric blue water.  It looks so fake and false but is apparently 100% natural.  Something to do with the rock underneath or something. It is their town water supply.  So pretty.

Weekend in Hamilton Vic

This weekend Ryan and I hired a car and drove to Hamilton to see Deena and Lorrin and the kids.  We got to spend a weekend watching the girls play netball, going for a Maccas lunch and then spent the afternoon at their place.

Ryan and Lorrin then went clay pigeon shooting that night.  Ryan had a blast.  It was his first time shooting and loved every minute of it.

Sunday we spent time mooching around Deena's vege garden.  We got so many tips and great ideas off her for when we build ours in Sippy Downs.  Ryan was in awe of all the veges and the sizes of them.  WE took some back to Mt Gambier and the tomatoes were to die for!!!!!!!

It was so great to spend time with the Monssens!  Until next weekend when we will see you all in Port Macdonnell.

Oh crap

This is the teeny tiny plane I had to catch yesterday from Melbourne to Mount Gambier. Was a bit of a white-knuckle flight.
