my bloody red christmas

first and foremost, I'm just really grateful that I'm alive now and able to type this entry. Judging by the damage of the car under scrutiny this morning, I could have died, or maybe should have. It's a miracle.

Like any other 19 year old teenagers, it was christmas night, and my friend had a barbecue at his place and invited all the friends. Since I was working on christmas day, I was 3 hours late when the actual barbecue started at 7pm but arrived at 10pm. We all had a load full of food and champagnes to celebrate christmas and the holidays. Ugh, the irony of it. Yea, you guys should've guessed it by now, I got into a car accident.

We all left around 1am in the morning and drove home, since hanging out with friends and driving out late at night was no longer possible owing to my long working hours, I took the liberty of using that chance for a little fun and went all initial "D". It was at this curve beside the new fly-over opposite timberland right in front of hong leong bank that almost got me killed. I could've sworn that I was going 50mph only and not exceeding 60mph while passing through the curve. I slowed down, hit the brakes and lost control of the car and rammed into a lamp post right next to the driver's seat at my right side and flipped the car sideways. I pushed the passenger side door above me and climbed my way up from above and leaped to safety. Left me with a few bruises and bleeding on my right arm as well as my feet and a sore pelvic area accompanied by chest pains whenever I laugh, sneeze or cough. I was conscious throughout the whole accident, god forbid.

When I got home, my aunts were a lil concerned and gave me a definite blow of nagging. She told me that for the Volkswagen, hitting the brakes must be in synch with the handbrakes when driving under the rain, now then I was told. What I'm really sorry for is the fact that I wrecked her Volkswagen which was her first car with 30 plus years of sentimental ties, nothing that I can do now can redeem myself from what I did but being sorry and realise the importance of safe-driving. Accidents are never a good thing, dead or alive.

I took some pictures of my aunt's volkswagen this morning with a cameraphone. Will be posting the pictures soon after all matters are cleared and settled. Gladly I've realised the importance of driving safely.

Well... I guess it's just too late for that.

p/s: Thanks Ken for lending me ur cameraphone and ur time!

my 2nd day off

well, believe it or not, it's my day off AGAIN. This time it's on a tuesday, last week was on a thursday. It seems like I'm always on an early impromptu notice a day before my actual day off. For next week, my day off will be on a monday since I gave my word to a friend to exchange his day off on friday so he could celebrate his sister's birthday on that day being the noble being that I am. (bleks)

Nevertheless, I spent my day today as constructive as ever. Went to school for my student's testimonial, forecast result and my computer class certificate, gosh.. the school clerk has got to put in some effort and initiative for the student's interest, took me 3 trips back and fourth just to be at the exact time where the clerk is actually present for my documents, sheesh. I drove home later and had lunch out with dad. After that, hung out with a friend around town and a few rounds of arcade gaming. I saw this wicked Adidas shoe at Lea Centre parkson, and my first pay check ever is going out for it!

Going back to work tomorrow. Worst is that the boss is coming back and thus marks the period of reckoning where politics arise and responsibilies are burdened. Sometimes, I really wonder why humans can't be nice by nature and rude by force? As a sales promoter, I'm obligated to attend and serve each and every single customer that steps in the store. It just infuriates me that stuck-up and arrogant customers (the majority and potential rich spenders) never even offer a glance or a decent respond when I greet them upon entry. I always felt this urge to grab hold of their heads and greet them with a big smile expecting a respond from the customer as little as a raised cheek. Now is that too much to ask!? Honestly, I dare say that it's really fucked up that people like that actually exists. Owh well, I can't do anything about it but suck it in. But I must say, tolerance has it's limits.

my first day off

It's my first day off today and how did I spend it? regretful and disappointing.

After the endless work period from morning till night, from 10am to 10pm, continuosly going on for 16 days straight, I finally got my day off and a break today on the 15th of December 2005.

So this is what I did today (not that it matters),

11.14a.m.- woke up.

11.32a.m. - drove home to meet up with dad after the long working days.

12.26p.m.- headed for bank bumiputera commerce to open a savings account for my salary.

12.31p.m. - realised bank opens at 2pm, it was break time. Walked to my workplace at parkson and waited there till 2 for the bank.

2.03p.m. - filled out the forms and went through all the procedures and waited for another 30 minutes for processing.

2.28p.m. - went back to the car and got screwed with three overdue parking tickets. Drove home.

2.46p.m. - paid my fine.

2.58p.m. - made calls to all available friends in hoping for company to hang out for the evening and to watch The Chronicles of Narnia. Calls were made continuously till 3.30p.m. None were free nor had available time to spare.

3.46p.m. - called star cineplex and asked for showing schedules for Narnia, the latest available showing time was on 4.30p.m. booking was not available.

3.52p.m. - drove to star cineplex and bought the ticket showing on 4.30p.m. then lazed around the area myself till 4.25p.m. before the actual showtime.

4.30p.m. - there begins my first ever solo movie.

6.42p.m. - bumped into a friend with his other friends together leaving another show who supposedly promised to give me a call for a movie that day which never happened.

6.50p.m. - looking for my car at the parking floor and payed a ridiculous RM 3.40 for parking and drove straight home.

So here's my well-spent and uniquely devised solo plan for my first ever day off from work.

Honestly speaking, I'd rather go back to work over wasting time planning a day out with friends which I was looking forward to only to end up with solitude and loneliness after all those hectic days of work. At least during working days, it's far more less depressing and less disappointing than what I'd expected.

Work starts tomorrow! Damn, I just can't wait to go to work!

updated

I haven't posted any entries for over more than a week now. I tell you, working from 10am till 10pm every single day including weekends can really drain the life force out of you. When u're back from work, the first thing u'll wanna do is take a bath then go straight away to bed and rest your sore feet. Weirdly, sometimes I can't help looking at watches everytime I see someone walk pass with a steel strap and a round glass attached to it. I guess I'm starting to get used to the job, plus I've made quite a few sales during the first 7 days, not bad for a rookie myself I might say, thanks to my colleagues.

Also not forgetting to mention that pui wen stopped by looking for Swatch skins for her watch but unfortunately we didn't have them and about the calender she asked for that day, pui wen if you're reading this, stop by anytime during work and we'll give u a calendar for 2006 which I just received, hehe..

Will try to post more entries, can't wait to watch Narnia during my day off next friday.

Thursday, December 1

The first two days of work was exhausting and my feet are killing me. The long hours of standing and attending to customers alongside with 2 other professionals showed me a whole new meaning to the term "dog-eat-dog world". It wasn't even close to what I had in mind. You'll have to work your ass off just to be able to make some money.

To add more misery in my life during the first day yesterday, I had a parking offense ticket issued to me because I mis-parked on the yellow line beside Wisma Ting Pek Khing only because free parking was full during that day. It costs me a fucking RM70 according to the 24-hour Police Station at Padungan that midnight when I asked.

Just to ease off a little of the pressure today, I managed to sell off three 3-figured watches with the help of the owners of the store of course. You don't expect a nOOb to sell three watches on his 2nd day of work when during the 1st day he sold zilch right?

I've gotta work out a new way to ease the suffering on my feet and my brain. I've made a premature decision to quit during the end of the month, that is IF everything is still going bad for me. Not that I'm complaininga bout the stress, but the break hours and commission charges are just too ridiculous, not going into details though.

I'll be posting somemore soon. I need help, any advice people?
