tagged, u're it

I dun even know why I tagged along...
------------------------------------------------

Here are the rules. To tag along: you have to list 7 weird things about yourself, post it in your blog, tag at least 7 people (list their names), and comment on their blog to let them know that you just tagged them. Want to get know more about me? Now is your time!

1. I procrastinate A LOT and I'm gdmf good at it.
2. I sweat a lot (I mean A LOT) when I'm nervous and after I drink big gulps of water.
3. I have a thing for girls that uses make up (the thing isn't necessarily a good thing).
4. I'm very dependent on friends.
5. I love cheesecakes. Not weird enough? Well, I bake them... and also, I cook.
6. If I ever ended up in a situation where I have to make a decision on colours, it'll always be GREEN (if you hadn't noticed yet).
7. I never do tags, this is my first, so savor it...

I tag...

Liang Wee, Jathniel, Jessica, Tze Chee, Wei Khee, Kim Seng, Bing Han.

Next step is copying the rules (above), write 7 weirdies, inform 7 of your blogger friends, and it goes on and on...

making a robot

referring to the previous post here about our assignment project, after much procrastination, soldering and programming, me and my groupmate finally finished our robot and here's a few snap shots of the final product..

Here's a video of the short demonstration while I was in the tuning process the gain for the PID algorithm of my robot. We've identified a few factors if corrected would increase in speed and probably stability which were the coding and the tires. If I had the chance to work on it again, I'll definitely be improving it. Although it didn't go as well as I expected or as fast as it should have, nonetheless it worked.

I guess now I could add this into desmond's-accomplishments-in-life list..

p/s: 3rd day into our 2 weeks study week and I'm still fooling around... gawd help me..

winning The Star Thumbnails!

It all started with this photo below when we were on our way back from class. On the way we saw a pile of gas canisters scattering on the road side with the lorry carrying the Petronas gas canisters going overboard, I figured it lost control while making a 270 degrees turn going up the fly-over. I guess the heavy cargo load messed up with the physics giving mother nature and gravity it's fair chance to manifest it's wrath on the ridiculous fuel price hike.

I wanted to snap the shot but I was in a moving car, but Rheeno was on his bike and stopped on the road side snapping the photos, so I asked him to email me the photos to blog about it but then I submitted to The Star's Thumbnails instead just to give it a shot. After all, it's a chance for a RM50 giveaway.

Amazingly, it got published in The Star on the 5th of September issue! But I never saw it because our rented house didn't have a subscription for The Star.

It was when I got back from class after and got a email from The Star asking for my idenfication number, name and address while congratulating me. It didn't occur to me at first that it was from the photo I sent a few weeks ago, I just realized it after seeing the email domain. I responded and yesterday I got the cheque the mailbox in the rented house in Melaka, imagine how psyched I was. I called up Rheeno and told him the good news and agreed to split the prize money.

Of course owing most of the credits to Rheeno for taking photos of the accident with his w810i.

Now... any idea where's the nearest Standard Charted bank in Batu Berendam Melaka to cash out? haha...
