saya masih lagi anak Malaysia

I was down with influenza along with the full package of all those aches, sores, weird climate reactions and f*cked up mood swings for the past few days. It was unexpectedly surprising and touched to see the amount of friends who responded to my "sick" display message in msn, enough for me to wish that I was sick every single day. Believe me, it wasn't intentional. I was so touched to the extent that I felt as if I was sexually molested.

Despite all that, it did not stop us from stepping out of the house and jumping on the bandwagon with all Malaccans to celebrate Malaysia's Independence day. However, I was rather disappointed this year because unlike the previous years when MITC (Melaka International Trade Center) had countdown live on national TV with firework displays, nothing significant happened this year. Well, maybe it's just me along with the other hundreds of people waiting at MBMB (Majilis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah) and MITC.

Nevertheless, the burning patriotism in the Malaccan people can be witnessed from the group of kampung road bikers to the dim sum stall taukenios in Jonker Walk.

See?

Happy Belated Birthday Independence Malaysia.

p/s: Thanks to all those that msged me, I'm gradually recovering and to those who thought that the lady in the photo was me, see carefully leh! since when I got boob clevage!?!?!

home alone chef

Coming into the 4th day of my semester break with piles of assignments, reports and coming test preparations, I'm still clueless and procrastinating as usual. Fortunately, my kuching friends from other IPTA around Malaysia came over to Melaka for a few days, staying at my place to keep me company. I had to put all my work load on hold and brought them around Melaka, which would make no difference as I'm known being the worst at time management.. the epitome of procrastination and maybe a hybrid of tardiness.

Yet, I still had time alone to pamper myself with a simple dish of pan-fried salmon for lunch before Ken, Siew and Lawrence came by on Sunday.

The frozen raw salmon slice cost me around RM6++ for a lunch meal, but in the end it was all worth it! I guess being a home alone chef isn't too bad after all.

Emm..

Isn't it yummy!?

You could even see the pepper bits on the salmon I marinated it with.

succulent...

ain't it just fishy licking good?

nice orange colour.. Mmmm..

p/s: all the photos taken above was shot with my walkman phone, don't u just love w810i?

are you happy?

I'm very aware of my absence in the blogging community and also very much aware of the decreasing traffic visits to my blog. However, during the past months I might say that I took a hiatus, but that isn't the case. If I said procrastinating, that might be true. I guess the real reason I've realized just recently is that, I have nothing. Nothing significant enough to drive my mind to blog about. Nothing as in the very being of humanity. I have nothing. And no, this isn't the case of some depressive state where I try to justify how pathetic my life is.

My interest in blogging is going on a downfall, admittedly saying. Simply because my thoughts are empty, and I have nothing substantial to blog about other than the bits and pieces of my daily encounters.

I've always considered my life as being simple and happy. Happy in the sense that I have no regrets and fortunately no life-altering decisions that I've regretted (well, I might have made one life-altering decision, but I never regretted it). Ironically, it was this morning in class, a usual boring Technocrat Communication lecture as En. Aziz was on the topic of Perceptions in subtopic of Recalling, when he asked,

"Can you think of the last time u were happy?"

That question struck me like a BUS, and subsequently drove enough force inside to push me into writing this entry.

My mind was a complete blank as I tried hard to recall, for a millisecond there I felt as though the whole class was empty and I was the only one in solitude in that moment of emptiness. Seriously.

I could not recall any happy moments in my life, and that question wasn't even intended to be that profound as En. Aziz was just trying to show how perceptive statements made was recalled. It was then I realized that I haven't been happy for quite a while, truly, truly happy for that matter.

So, what about you now?

are you happy?
