Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday friends! I woke up to some light rain which I'm very thankful for and even though I'm at work instead of staying home cuddling with my loves, the rain is making me happy too!

I decided to indulge myself this week and had our babysitter come over for a few hours so I could go shopping alone {such a treat!}. I also decided to relax while getting a manicure and pedicure. I rarely get them because with a 2 year old, my nail polish chips pretty easily.

I looked around pinterest and found a cute nail design and showed the nail person the picture once and she recreated it pretty closely! I got gel nail polish for the first time and I am already impressed with how it's holding up, even after a few showers/baths, going swimming, and playing with Bailey...not a chip in sight!

I have a twitter account, mostly to keep in touch with a couple of friends that don't facebook and I also have found some fun sites to follow. One of my favorites to check in on is @_youhadonejob {you had one job}.
Here is one they sent out today:

The caption was "Looks like Barry forgot how cups work"

We used to get the newspaper Sunday mornings and one of my favorite comics was always Baby Blues. I was scrolling through my pictures and found this comic I took a picture of:
Diagnosis, Children.
Yep, that pretty much sums it up!

I have found a few blogs that just make me laugh with almost every post and I wish that Helena would post more often because she comes out with some gems {seriously, go read This one!}
Go check her blog out at Life in the Pitts!

Until I was pregnant, I was the girl who never {and I mean never} went out in pajama pants or yoga pants. Now...bring them on! I have a few pairs of yoga pants that are so comfortable that I have multiples of the same pair.

Seeing this sign made me laugh, because before kids this was totally me! It was so hard to put on clothes after getting cozy in my jammies. I'm sure one day I'll get back to not going out in yoga pants, but for now, I'm fully embracing them!

I hope that this added a little happiness to your day! Happy Sunday my friends!

Our Monday

Monday was a holiday for most people and fortunately, Chris and I had the day off together too! I was hoping to spend the day at the beach, but the morning dawned cool and foggy so we nixed that plan.

We've been wanting to take Bailey ice skating for awhile and we decided Monday was a good day to do it! She always talks about how she is going to play hockey with her Dada (while I cheer for her), with her pink hockey stick and skates and helmet. She cracks us up with her imagination!

She was so excited to wear skates of her own and be bundled up in her cold weather gear! She wanted to run over to the ice, but she was pretty wobbly so we kept a firm grasp on her.

Fortunately, there weren't as many people as I expected and we were able to move around the ice pretty freely.

Bailey wasn't too confident once she actually got on the ice because it was so slippery. We held hands and coaxed her along by reminding her that to be able to play hockey she had to practice and that kept her moving.

I was a little nervous about my own center of gravity, but I did pretty well {and it helped that we moved slowly!}

After each lap she wanted to get off the ice and sit down to watch the hockey players on the other rink. After a few minutes she would then jump off the bench and exclaim "I can do it myself!" and take off for the ice. Fortunately, she didn't mind holding hands and we made it around the rink together.
After the fourth lap (and 45 minutes) she was asking to go home, so we decided that was enough for one day. But as soon as we took off her skates, she was begging to go back out on the ice.

I have no doubt that she will take after her Dada and do some sport that involves an ice rink!

After we left the rink the sky cleared and the temperature rose (or it just felt that way after being in the ice rink!). We decided to head over to the park to feed the ducks.
Bailey loves all creatures and eagerly feeds the ducks whenever given the opportunity. She gets close to them and talks to them and loves watching them grab at the bread she throws.

The park has a cool {free} exercise/light game that plays music or makes noise as you try to hit the lighted buttons. I sat and watched while Chris and Bailey racked up the points.

We still had some bread left after playing at the park, so we headed back to the ducks and Bailey would reach as far out as she could to place the bread in the water. We were shocked she didn't fall in!

I'm so glad that we decided to forego running errands and had a family fun day instead. We ended the night with a BBQ at home, playing in the backyard until we couldn't see without the lights on.

I'm so thankful for days off all together, making memories and ending the evening cuddling in bed, reading books as Bailey falls asleep.

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday Friends!
Here I am with some things that are making me happy this week, won't you join me in sharing your happiness?

We donated Chris' commuter car a month or so ago so I've been driving our big truck while he uses my Honda to commute to work. I don't enjoy driving the truck, especially when I have to fill up the gas tank! Last week, it wasn't so painful when I pulled up to the gas station to see this:
$2.17!!!!
(This was with 20 cents off with my Vons card) but I was happy!

Chris was working a little late and I wasn't in the mood to cook a real dinner so I decided to make one of my favorite dinners from when I was younger:
Breakfast for dinner!!
Bailey was acting out (living up to the terrible two moniker) so she was off playing by herself while I enjoyed some waffles by myself. She soon got tired of being alone, changed her attitude, and joined me at the table.
I will admit, it was nice having a few moments alone to enjoy my waffle!

Our dining room table has been piled high with stuff from our guest room that needs to find a new home, so we have been having some picnics on the kitchen floor. After dinner one night, Bailey wanted her nails painted and of course I had to get mine done too!
She wanted blue polish for her toes and decided I needed one foot pink and one foot blue. I still have mine painted like this and it makes me smile every time I look down at them.

One of my coworkers was in the Navy and we have a group text message going with some other coworkers. We send each other random things that we find that make us laugh. You never know what will be in the message when you open it! I found this one and knew I had to pass it along...
I asked my coworker if he was jealous! :-)

Chris had a huge vodka bottle filled with pennies that unfortunately got tipped over and broken awhile ago. Since then the pennies have been in Ziploc bags in the closet. We had a lot of change and decided to try out the Coinstar machine at the market since I didn't want to count a bunch of pennies. I thought we'd get about $5 for all our change.
$146?!?!
I was in shock!
We kept $40 to use for lunch and decided to put the rest in Bailey's piggy bank.

Overall it has been a wonderful week! We are spending the weekend {hopefully} getting the nursery painted and ready for our little guy. and spending time together. Chris shared his cold with me so I've been feeling pretty bad these past few days, but I'm starting to feel better.

We also have another ultrasound this week to make sure that our little guy is still a boy(the second ultrasound we had the dr wasn't sure). Hopefully we will decide on his name soon, we are close but it's so much harder this time!

I hope that you have a great week full of happy things!
