Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday my dear friends! We are in the midst of our crazy, hectic lives. I'm working really hard to find the happy things when I am run down, tired, missing my husband, and feeling like we will be ships passing in the night forever. Here is my little space to share some happy things with you!
{Here is the link to my past Happy Sunday posts}

Bailey wanted to pick out her own Valentine's Day card for Chris and wanted to come up with her own saying inside. She had me write down what she was saying and I was cracking up.

"All this time, it's a sign Jesus loves me, I want to do it to others. In Jesus' name. Amen"

I've been trying to slow down and enjoy where I am at any particular moment. The other day, Bailey and I were laying on our backs, looking up at the sky.
That little black speck in the middle of the picture...a butterfly fluttering above our heads!

We went over to my Mother-in-law's house for dinner the other night and all the girl cousins were fawning over Wyatt.
We had to calm them down a few times {for Wyatt's safety} since they sure love him. I am so thankful that our kids get to grow up with close cousins!

After having practically no dairy for the last few months, I have slowly been reincorporating it back into my diet. I splurged and really, really enjoyed my ice cream sundae from Baskin Robbins!

For some reason, when driving back from my parent's house I almost always feel the need to wear lipstick. Maybe it's the longish drive or the fact that the kids tend to fall asleep but I grabbed my red and boldly wore it.
I'm not sure if I would wear red lipstick out on a normal basis, but it sure is fun catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror as I drive.

I hope that you are finding things that make you happy this week!

Birthday surprise

 Last week we were able to surprise my Mom with a visit for her birthday {my Dad helped keep the secret}. The kids and I drove up to their house and we were walking in their back door when my Mom was coming out. Bailey was really excited to give Nana the balloons she picked out and Nana was happy to see us!

As is always one of her first stops at Nana and Grandpa's, Bailey ran up to hold one of her favorite chickens to say hello.

Nana and Wyatt happy together!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we decided to take a walk together!
{Bailey had the best seat for our walk}

Mom's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, but last year she was really sick and didn't even get to taste any of our dinner. We decided that for her birthday we would recreate a full Thanksgiving dinner.
While it didn't go exactly as planned, it was still delicious, we had leftovers for days (like normal thanksgiving), and a great time eating together!
Stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy...

Honey baked ham and turkey.

My delicious plate!
 I learned how easy stuffing is to make and how tasty it is!

Our plan was to have a few different desserts, so I made some mini pumpkin pies.
I kind of winged it and made my own plan, and it worked pretty well!

Of course we had to have birthday cake!
My Mom loves coconut cake so I found an easy recipe, Bailey loved helping to make and eat it!
{the frosting kind of melted on our trip, I joked I could add some button eyes, mouth, and a carrot nose and it would be a perfect melting snowman cake!}

Chris was able to take the day off of work and came up to join us for the weekend!

My handsome guys!

Like I said, the weather was absolutely beautiful so we spent as much time outside as we could!
My and my girl

We made time for some sunbathing!

One of Wyatt's favorite spots is in the swing, he takes after his Momma.

Mom's friends surprised her with a night out at the Melodrama, Bailey and I were able to tag along while the guys watched the Superbowl.

We had a lovely dinner at Ventana Grill in Pismo. The sun was just about to set and we enjoyed watching the waves below us before heading out to the show.

It was wonderful being able to surprise Mom, she does so much for us, it was really nice doing a little something for her. It was a perfect weekend with those we love!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh the mischief these two get {and will get} into!
