Recently

Oh my goodness has our life been full lately! We have been keeping busy and I have been really good at taking pictures, just not very good at uploading them to my computer. So I made a few collages to keep you up to date with our recent happenings!

 

We went to Disneyland to celebrate our niece Ella's fifth birthday. We spent the day at California Adventure before heading over to Disneyland to go trick or treating.

 

Bailey wore her Rapunzel dress during the day and was Belle for the Halloween party. Wyatt was Peter Pan (Chris was working).

 

Chris and I were able to get away for a weekend in San Francisco, where Chris was a groomsman in the wedding of our dear friends Ben and Jenny. It was such a great weekend full of love and friends! We even went to the Giants game, where they won!

It was so wonderful (and much needed) being able to get away just the two of us.

 

We went "camping" in Mom and Dad's backyard with our great friends. It was a wonderful weekend, until Bailey started throwing up, so we only slept in the tent one night, but it was still full of good memories. We spent time at the beach, listening to music at the golf course, and enjoyed time around the fire pit. (Chris missed out again due to work)

The weather was perfect and we were so comfortable in the tent, and we had a great beach day!

 

The kids and I went on another Faery Hunt and as always Bailey loves seeing the girls dressed up. She wore her Rapunzel dress again and loved walking along the path with all the other little girls, looking for fairies and singing new songs.

 

Bailey and Wyatt have been like two peas in a pod lately. So loving with each other and Wyatt loves trying to do everything that Bailey does. They bring me so much joy and I am enjoying watching their relationship grow and a friendship blossom. We are still learning how to give each of them enough individual attention, but it sure is nice having them be able to play together and like each other.

Matching glow-in-the-dark jammies, bath time,  hunting lizards in the backyard, and showing off their junior police officer stickers my Grandma sent them.

 

It has been really hot these past few days (almost 100 degrees for a few days in a row), so we have been spending time outside before it gets too hot and enjoying our water table. Wyatt isn't usually a fan of hats but I couldn't resist buying him the one and he actually kept it on.

He is turning into a kid. Not my baby anymore! He is starting to talk a lot more and is so loving and expressive. He knows what he wants and will definitely let you know if he is unhappy, but fortunately he is still our little cuddlebug and gives hugs and kisses freely.

Growing like a weed, learning so much (thankfully she loves school now and has many friends so she enjoys going), is very helpful, can be very stubborn, is still a Mom's girl but sure loves her Dad! She is teaching me a lot about patience (both working on her own and mine!) and having fun. We are starting regular chores with her, she loves coming up with ideas of things we can do (mostly involving frozen yogurt with things we can put on top, or ice cream), she loves to help in the kitchen, do art work, and is very creative.

She challenges me, and I'm so excited to see her grow! She is a beauty, inside and out!

 

Chris has missed out on a few things lately, but for a good reason! He transferred down to Ventura County, from working in Santa Barbara, and his schedule is pretty up in the air for now. He went from driving about an hour each way, working 12 hour shifts, four days a week to driving about 20 minutes each way. While his hours are varying for now, we're hoping they will be set soon. It is so nice having him closer to home and we know this will be a great move for him!

 

Not much to update on me, just working and making memories with the family!

We have a few more fun things coming up soon, so hopefully I'll post again soon!

Summer of celebrations!

Oh my gosh, I have SO much to catch up on, so I'm just going to jump in and start! 

This summer we had so many fun celebrations and were able to share in some joyous events!

Our sweet girl turned 3! I'm not quite sure how that happened so quickly!

We were able to have a fun party up at Nana and Grandpa's where we also got to introduce Wyatt to our family and friends. (More on Bailey's party in another post)

We were able to visit Lake Arrowhead for the first time to celebrate the wedding of Adam and Kori! Adam was a coworker of mine and we have become really close these past few years. It was so fun getting together to celebrate in such a beautiful place!

We had a fun time, my parents came with us to babysit while we went to the wedding. We spent the next day at Lake Gregory where Bailey was able to try fishing the first time (no fish were caught but fun was had). 

Wyatt, Mom and I were able to attend a beautiful, pink baby shower for our friend Lindsey celebrating her baby girl-to-be Blake. Wyatt enjoyed being the only boy and got lots of attention, before falling asleep on me for almost the entire shower.

Chris, Wyatt, and I attended the beautiful wedding of our friends Briana and Justin (Bailey spent some extra time with Nana and Grandpa). The ceremony started out with a bagpiper and then Briana glided down the aisle in a gorgeous dress! 

We sat at a really fun table and Wyatt was definitely a big hit, getting passed around from woman to woman, even scoring a dance with the bride! Wyatt passed out from all the fun!

There is just something about attending a wedding, especially ones that are on the smaller side to make you really feel the love and appreciate your own relationship. Each event had so many special touches and I feel honored were were invited to each one.

Bailey was asked to be a flower girl in our dear friend's wedding this past weekend and she did great!

At rehearsal Bailey was very clingy and I was nervous that she wouldn't make it down the aisle. I had to walk with her to practice and she didn't want to hold the hand of the other flower girl or stray too far from me.

She loved being in her pretty dress and I was able to capture a happy moment!

As soon as Bailey saw Amy in her wedding dress, Bailey had to be right next to her. Bailey and Stella were fluffing Amy's dress for her as we waited to take pictures. Amy's Aunt made the girl's skirts and they looked so sweet.

While we were waiting for the ceremony, the girls and I practiced our kissy faces.

Stella has been a flower girl 3 times before this wedding, so she helped Bailey prepare and pose for pictures!

The girls danced for about half an hour before the ceremony! They were going non-stop.

 

Even though she was happy, we were a little worried that Bailey wouldn't walk down the aisle, so Chris sat towards the front of the ceremony and I stayed back with Bailey. Chris was able to get a video of Bailey walking down the aisle!

 

 

She did great and loved the attention!

Bailey was happy to dance with anyone who would say yes...Kika took her turn on the dance floor.

 

 

Towards the end of the evening, she was focused on the dance floor lights!

 

She loved the candy bar! We shared our mini desserts and allowed her to have this one, big lollipop. She was a happy, tired girl at the end of the night.

 

Congratulations Auntie Amy and Uncle B! We hope you have a great time in St. Lucia and we can't wait to see you when you get home! 

Settling into married life

The wedding was amazing and the honeymoon was absolutely wonderful! We are slowly settling back into our normal routine and trying to spend as much time together as our schedules allow. Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures from the wedding and honeymoon in a future post, as I am just learning how this blogging works.

I thought as my first post I would answer some of the most frequent questions we get since we have been married:


1. How was the wedding?
Ok, well...I know what I thought, but if you were there I'd love to hear what you thought of everything (the day was a whirlwind)! From my perspective, it was just wonderful! The weather was perfectly clear with blue skies, no major mishaps happened (only one minor one that I know of), the music, food, and atmosphere were all what we hoped for. As most people tell you when you are a bride-to-be the day just flew by, and I can't wait to get the video so that we can relive the day! We felt so loved by the number of people came out to support us and that we were able to have so many people that we love all together at once, and thankful that all of you came from near and far just for us.



2. How was the honeymoon (usually followed by a wink)?
It was like living in paradise for a week. We went to the island of Moorea, Tahiti. We stayed in one of these over the water bungalows and it was just wonderful. We went snorkeling everyday off our deck, into the crystal clear water with tons of fish swimming around us; swam with the dolphins; went on a boat tour where we swam with sting rays and black tipped sharks; relaxed on the beach; took a jeep safari around the island where we stopped at some amazing lookout points, and just enjoyed being together with no interruptions!


3. Does it feel different now that you're married?
Honestly, to me, it does a little. I'll try my best to explain it, but it's hard to put it into words. It feels more secure (I think that is the hardest part to try to explain because there was never any doubt that we are right for each other, but it just seems to have more permanence now). It's such a warm, loving feeling knowing that Chris chose me...chose me to be his wife (after all he did propose and in a public way), chose me to (hopefully) be the mother of his children one day, chose me to spend his life with, chose me to be is partner in good times and in difficult times for the rest of our lives. I get to call him my husband, not boyfriend, not fiance, but husband! We now have the same last name; Christmas cards will be from the Crosby's, not Chris and Mallory as separate individuals, but from our little family to yours; and that is such a wonderful feeling.


4. When are you having kids?
One of the many things that made me fall in love with Chris was how he treated his younger cousins, it is easy to see that he is going to be a wonderful father one day. ONE DAY. We are enjoying being a family of two, spending our few short hours that we both have off of work together, catching up and reconnecting after (sometimes) days apart. I am so proud of my husband for the work that he does, saving lives and caring for strangers; but our schedules often leave little time for us to be together and more often than not, we are worn out and only have the energy to laze around the house. That does not mix well with babies and children, so for the moment, we are going to hold off on kids, but ask again in a year and the answer might be different :)
