CBS, or CBS Broadcasting Inc., is one of the largest television networks in the United States. Founded in September 1927, it is owned by the CBS Entertainment Group, a division of Paramount Global.

CBS originally began as one of the largest radio networks in the country before establishing itself as one of the "Big Three" American TV networks when it expanded into television in the 1940s. The network came under the ownership of ViacomCBS, which was later renamed Paramount Global in 2022, following the remerger of CBS Corporation and Viacom in December 2019.

The network's flagship channel of the same name broadcasts in 1080i HDTV and features a wide range of programming, including news and political shows, daytime programs, soap operas, and late-night entertainment.

Live sports are primarily broadcast on its sister channels, CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Golazo, with coverage also available on the streaming platform Paramount+. Nonetheless, select sports events are televised on CBS itself, including the UEFA Champions League and the Super Bowl, with CBS televising Super Bowl LVIII nationally. NFL on CBS and Thursday Night Football have also featured.

CBS is a pay-TV channel available through various cable, satellite, and streaming providers. Notable carriers include DirecTV, Dish, Xfinity, Hulu + Live TV, and Fubo. Additionally, viewers can stream CBS on Paramount+, Paramount Global’s subscription-based streaming service.
