China Media Group (CMG) has secured the broadcast rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in China, thanks to an agreement reached with football’s world governing body in May 2026. This deal was finalized less than a month before the 2026 edition, which was included in this rights package, covering two men’s World Cups (2026 and 2030) and two women’s World Cups (2027 and 2031).
As a result, the CMG-owned state broadcaster CCTV will provide free-to-air coverage of the 2030 FIFA World Cup on the CCTV-5 and CCTV-5+ channels, which also broadcast the 2026 tournament. Additionally, soccer fans in China can stream the World Cup on the CCTV app, offering a different viewing experience.
The CCTV app is available on both iOS and Android devices, as well as on other platforms, including smart TVs and Android TV/boxes. The CCTV website also enables viewers to stream the 2030 World Cup.
Furthermore, football fans in China can stream the 2030 FIFA World Cup on the Yangshipin streaming app, with live streams available in up to 4K quality. It should be noted that CCTV sublicensed the digital distribution and streaming rights to third-party broadcasters for the 2026 World Cup and may do the same for the 2030 tournament.
