ESPN has acquired UEFA Women’s Champions League broadcast rights in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa, securing these rights in a deal for the 2025-26 to 2029-30 cycle.
This rights deal extends to Cameroon, Ethiopia, the Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and several other countries on the African continent.

ESPN is an American sports network specializing in sports. It is owned by ESPN, Inc and operated by The Walt Disney Company Latin America. It is available in most Latin American countries. It was initially launched on September 15, 1988 as a test channel, but its official launch came on March 31, 1989.
ESPN Africa is one of the geo-specific channels launched by the network. It is a joint venture between the Walt Disney Company and Hears Communications. Its area of influence is the Sub-Saharan Africa, and it started airing its content in English, French, and Portuguese, but the latter was eventually dropped from the general programming. ESPN Africa replaced Setanta Sports and Setanta Action
Over the years, ESPN Africa has established itself as a major reference in sports broadcasting, with disciplines such as football, handball, basketball, motorsports, mixed martial arts, hockey, baseball, rugby, and darts being aired on this channel.
