2026-2030

ITV will broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup live in the United Kingdom on ITV1 and ITV4, with matches also available to stream on ITVX, offering free-to-air coverage as part of a shared rights agreement with the BBC. Viewers can watch select matches, including the opening game and the final (co-broadcast), without a subscription across both TV and digital platforms.

Commercial broadcaster ITV has been confirmed as a broadcaster for the UEFA Euro 2028 in the UK and will show live matches in partnership with the BBC. Streaming service ITVX will also carry live games for users on multiple platforms.

2025-2027

Select matches from the Carabao Cup, including one semi-final tie and the final, are shown live on ITV in the UK and Ireland. In a deal that kicked in at the beginning of 2025, fans in the UK and Ireland are able to watch limited coverage of the cup competition on the free-to-air platform until the end of the 2026-27 season.

England - Championship

ITV provides selected free-to-air EFL Championship coverage in the UK under its agreement with Sky Sports, which runs through the end of the 2026/27 season. Live matches are shown on ITV1 or ITV4 depending on the fixture and are also streamed on ITVX.

UTV history, coverage, features

UTV is a free-to-air television channel owned by the ITV Group. It was launched on October 31, 1959 as Ulster Television. UTV became the first indigenous channel in Northern Ireland and has its headquarters in Belfast. The channel was acquired by the ITV Group on October 19, 2015 after the Independent Television Authority in Northern Ireland accepted a $124M offer from ITV to buy the channel and its radio stations.

UTV offers general news shows related to Northern Ireland, including regional news programs, TV series, and general entertainment shows. Most of the channel’s content is available online via the ITV Hub since the channel’s acquisition by ITV. 

UTV launched an HD feed on October 5, 2010, which was immediately made available on the Northern Ireland terrestrial feed. Pay-tv carriers in the country also carry an SD feed for users who do not have the technology to watch the HD feed. Check local listings with your pay-tv carrier of choice to know which feed is available they have.
