How to watch Eliteserien in Norway

TV 2 is the official broadcaster of the Eliteserien in Norway for the 2023 to 2028 seasons, replacing Discovery after initially acquiring the rights in 2022 through a distribution deal.

Thanks to this agreement, fans in Norway can watch select live Eliteserien games on TV on the TV 2 Sport channels, specifically TV 2 Sport 1 and TV 2 Direkte. Additionally, Norwegians can stream all Eliteserien matches live on TV 2’s streaming service, TV 2 Play.

Viewers can subscribe to TV 2 Play directly to access the full range of TV 2’s Eliteserien coverage. TV 2 Play subscriptions can be purchased with or without ads. A TV 2 Play subscription includes not only live games but also pre- and post-match studio programs, analysis, live interviews with coaches and players, highlights, and more.

Once subscribed, Norwegians can stream all Eliteserien games live on TV 2 Play via several internet-connected devices. This includes a PC or Mac through TV 2 Play’s official website. Additionally, subscribers can stream live matches on the TV 2 Play app available on smart TVs, Apple TV, Android TV, iPhone and iPad, Android smartphones and tablets, and more.

The TV 2 Play app also supports Chromecast. Furthermore, TV 2 Play is pre-installed on TV boxes from partnered TV providers such as Allente, Altibox, RiksTV, Strim, Telenor, and Telia.

It should be noted that not all TV 2 Play subscriptions include all live Eliteserien games. The required TV 2 Play subscription can be acquired either through the TV providers or directly from TV 2 Play. Additionally, TV 2’s linear channels (TV 2 Sport 1 and TV 2 Direkte) and the select Eliteserien fixtures available on those channels may be included in subscriptions to third-party TV providers.

Football fans in Norway can watch Eliteserien, the top-flight Norwegian league, on TV 2 for the 2029-2034 TV cycle. This is thanks to a major rights extension struck in late April 2026, covering not only Eliteserien but also Toppserien, the Norwegian women’s national team, and select Norwegian First Division matches.

Viewers can subscribe to TV 2 Play, the network’s subscription-based streaming service, to access TV 2’s Eliteserien coverage. TV 2 Play subscriptions can be purchased with or without ads, and include additional Eliteserien content such as highlights and interviews. Once subscribed, Eliteserien fans in Norway can watch the Norwegian top-flight league on the TV 2 Play app across a variety of internet-connected devices. This includes Android and iOS devices such as Android TV, Android smartphones, tablets, Apple TV, iPhones, and iPads.

The app is also available on smart TVs, Android TV boxes, and TV boxes from various providers, while boasting Chromecast support. Viewers who do not wish to download the TV 2 Play app can simply head to the streaming service’s official website via a supported browser for an alternative viewing experience. It should be noted that viewers subscribed to third-party TV providers such as Allente, Altibox, RiksTV, Strim, Telenor, or Telia may gain access to TV 2’s linear channels; however, availability is subject to change. Please check with your TV provider for the latest information.

In Norway, fans can watch live matches on Direktesport, available on both TV and streaming platforms. Coverage is confirmed for season 2026.
