From garden to kitchen

Lush again!

My Powder puff was trim down massively due to caterpillars and mealy bug attack few months back! I have posted about it HERE . Now it has bounce back to a lush and beautiful plant again!

This give some live lesson for me! At time we face a lot of obstacles . We feel very exhausted with life.....We re-arrange all our strategies!  In the end like the plant we shine once again!

Broccoli!

Out of eagerness i planted broccoli same timing with cabbage! Cabbage have form head but the broccoli keep growing. I can see small flower bud but it stay as it is. May be the hot Malaysia weather is not suitable for it! Any idea if the flower will grow or this is the last of the broccoli?

Starfruit getting tall!

Star fruit tree have grown taller. More branches and leaves. So far nothing have eaten the leaves. Hopefully not in the future too!

Pak choy adding more leaves!

When i transferred the Pak Choy seedlings, they look so fragile and i was wondering if it will survive heavy rain. I have posted about it Here. Nature is a wonder!

Turmeric flower!

Why does Turmeric plant flowering? It doesn't need pollination for tuber development! May be just for exotic look!

This is my 2nd time seeing my Turmeric flowering!

Cabbage

My first attempt on cabbage! Inspired by Bangchik! It took almost 6months to get a small head. The size of the head is only about 4". Very small compare to market sold one!

Daun kari have grown taller!

My curry leave has grown taller ! The leaves looks so healthy! A month ago some kind of caterpillars ( look like miniature 'taugeh' ) infested the plant but luckily i manage to save the plants!  Now it is lush and green!  

Many new plants!

Wondering if i went to nursery on working day? No! All this was given to me by Shida from p3chandan!  How nice & kind of her to propagate all these plants and drop right in front of my working place with a lot of smiles and detail explanation! I was busy with meetings and due dates but she was kind enough to do the delivery! Thank you so much shida!

Spider plant!

Kangkung invansion...

When i started my kangkung from seeds, it was so tiny and fragile plant. I was worried if it will survive. On top of it some pest make home on it! The leaves curled up and yellowing! I sprayed garlic spray and kept my fingers crossed!

After sometimes it bounce and grow happily.......and become invasive! Kangkung have taken over my vegetable patch all together!

I have prune it so many times for cooking but it doesn't mind the cutting!

My third attempt on long beans is really worth it! I plant it in different vegetable patch and with little fertilizer. I grow them together in mint patch. I guess the mint have taken most of the fertilizer and become invasive!

There are many flowers and it's a promise of many long beans for me!

Opppsss..... where are my long beans? Monkey again.....

Pegaga?

I have bunch of this plant in my rectangular pot. It looks like Ulam Pegaga or Vallarai in Tamil. I'm not very sure. Do any gardener have any idea if this is edible?

Kalanchoe - the pinky

At the side of my house entrance, i have a small empty portion where i keep all the house plants and plants which love shade place! My garden receive full sun all day long! So some of the plant can't strive in hot sun.

One of the plant is this pretty pink beauty! Kalanchoe have brilliant colour small blooms which can last up to 2 months! This plant originated from Madagascar.

Kalanchoe require minimum water and bright filtered sun light to grow! They can be propagated through stem cutting or leaf! I shall try both the method once the flowers withered!

Bitter gourd flowers!

This is my 2nd attempt with bitter gourd. The first attempt was with 2 unhealthy seedlings which were eaten up by caterpillars!

The plant have started flowering but all are male flowers. I'm waiting patiently for the female flowers.... Due to my busy work schedule, my garden is not well taken care off. Monkeys are partying at the long beans vines and have pull and tear my corn ears! I have to get back to the garden soon!

Roselle drinks

Last weekend i harvested some Roselle from my garden. It's my first time to do the Roselle drinks. I remember the step by step photos blogged by bangchik few days ago! Bingo i prepared my very first drinks from my garden! It taste so good!

I forgot to take the juice photos. When the pot got down from the stove, it looks so tempting that we add ice cubes to cool it down and drink!

Pak Choy

Vinca @ Periwinkles

I have collection of Periwinkles in my garden now! Previously i tried hard to save them. After sometimes, i let the nature handle them and now.... I have variety of them! Originally i had white, purple, maroon and violet. Unfortunately the violet never strive well in my garden but the purple and maroon have mix and create new colour in my garden!
