Green Chillies

It's been some times that I planted big chillies.

Some of the chilli plants was gone due to heat last few months. The survivors are here with thin chillies. I think I need to fertilize them well. I use them while cooking vegetables. They give a taste of spiciness to the vegetables!

This type are not hardy type. The previous seedling was very strong. I must sow the new seeds soon.

Pegaga after shower!

Pegaga is growing steadily with good supply of rain! The leaves look green and fresh!

Indian prepare "தொவையல்" pronounced as  "Tovaiyal" with this Gotu Kola. Saute mustard seeds with oil. Add chillies if you want it to be spicy. Blend it with gotu kola leaves and some water. You can add mint or curry leaves too. Pour the blended solution in the frying pan and stir until it thicken. Ready to be served with rice! It's really yummy when mint and curry leaves are added. With all the added health benefit this is really a wonderful plant to have at home!

Have you tasted Gotu Kola before? how you cook them?

GBBD - March 2014

My prayers must have been answered! It's raining everyday now since last Friday. That's really great! The environment is really looking clear and fresh! Plants on the street look so green and healthy! They must have enjoyed the showers so much!

My flowering plants are really happy too with abundance of water! No more yellow leaves and dry leaves!

The stunning flowers of Plumeria is still fresh after 1 week plus! They can really withstand hot weather!

This little flowers look so good after a good shower!

Now I started to realize the value of every drop of rain! Being in tropical country with good weather and good amount of rain make me so ignorant until the weather become upside down since last January ! We never had such a terrible weather all this while. I think this is all the impact of Global warming ! Let's save our world by being green and recycle!

Hot weather and kangkung

There is almost no rain for past 2 months! The last rain was man-made which last for 1 hour only. I can see everything is drying along the road. The haze is getting worst! I can smell smoke if I open the house door early in the morning! It make me feel suffocating!

I really wish for rain! It shall wash away all the haze and air pollutant! Rejuvenate the plants and trees along the road as well as the plant in my garden!

The temperature now is 34Deg C. It's blazing hot with no wind!

Kangkung under the sun! It's wilting!

Pudina on new bed

Pudina was growing wild in my gardne 2 years back. Then sometimes goes wrong that all of them died off. I tried planting the again but it doesn't turn out well

Finally I plant them at new vegetable bed. I haven't done any cleaning so the weeds are growing together with the Pudina. It's time for weeding. Some nightshade is growing to in this bed.

I'm putting my finger cross! Hopefully this time they will be over flowing !

I use pudina in my "tovaiyal" which is Indian special food to be eaten with rice. Just add some spices and pudina and bled it together. Heat the blended pudina over the little fire and let the paste thicken. It's ready to be eaten with rice! It goes well with briyani!  How you eat your pudina?
