Green Beans and CNY wishes!

The sun is shining so bright and I can see that the weather is slowly changing! There is no summer here but it's getting warm over here! It's time for vegetable gardening! I have sowed and transplant some green beans. Hope they grow well and I can harvest enough beans for my family!

It's eve on Chinese New Year! The year of Horse. To all Chinese Blogger Happy Chinese New Year and to the rest in Malaysia Happy Holiday! Hope all of us have very good time with the loved one!

I do not have much red colour in the garden to suit the CNY mood. Anyway the plants below shall represent the CNY mood! ;) 

 

 
Gerbera flowering after 1/2 a year!

My neighbour use to tell that this is lucky plant and the plant growth reflect the Owners financial too! I'm no so sure if it's true but I love Adenium!

 

The Dracaena cuttings

Dracaena bicolour has beautiful leaves. No wonder it's called a rainbow plant! It's leaves look sharp but in actual they are very fragile!

I accidentally placed the pot at the shaded area while waiting for the stem to grow roots. The stem bend ahead to find sunshine!

 Originally I bought 1 plant from the nursery. Now I have 3 additional plant from successful stem cuttings!

This plant so far has no pest attack! It's a bonus for gardener with limited time to spent in garden!

I have propagated them successfully with stem cutting! They seems to be very easy to grow from stem cutting!

It's air filtering plant too! 

Holy Basil

Holy Basil have special place in Hindu Homes! It's workship as holy plant.

Besides that it's very highly priced in Ayurvedic medication. I have few Holy basil plant or "Tulasi" in Tamil. They are easy to propagated through hard stem cutting or more easily by seeds! 

 

Close up on their leaves and young seeds! Just pluck and eat some of the leaves for health purposes. I have wrote about it before here

Or you can just pluck some of the leaves to make basil tea too! It's very refreshing !

The weather is much better now. There is no more down pour or continuous rain for 24 hours a day any more! I'm very glad! I think the plants feel the same too!

Adenium sending out more blossom! May be it's preparing for Chinese New Year? ;)

 Plumeria is constantly blooming and they stay fresh very long! The flowers have nice scent!

New Year resolution.....!

While young, in school my teacher will ask us to write about our new year resolution every year without fail! We would write a long list and even share between each others! I think most of us do not really follow the resolution but give the list to the teacher to impress them only! hahhaha,.....

But this habit of writing resolution continues until now! Nowadays I don't write or think a long list but a few which I really would like to follow!

1) I have minimize the usage of pesticide last year. I would like to continue it this year as much as possible!
2) I want to plant more vegetables in the vegetable bed which is currently contain weeds. At least harvest as much as possible my own vegetables!

 
3) maintain back all my flowering plants that I have left last year

4) To spent more time in the garden, get my hand dirty!

5) I have lost a lot of plants last year like zinnia, plumbago,my pink hibiscus, marigold, balsam, etc! I hope I will handle my plants more carefully even though they are abundance this year!

Gotu kola

Finally I planted the edible Pegaga or Gotu kola in my garden. I got it from my home town and planted in a long pot. It's somehow growing well while I was not taking care of it last year! ;) weeds can be seen so it's time for me to clean up my garden! You can also see the all rounded version of pegaga ( non edible) which is invading my garden at the moment.! I'm trying to remove it weekly! hahhaa.....
