Caterpillars have attacked the vines while I turn my back on the plant! I have eliminate this pest last weekend. I hope Petola will be happy to produce fruits from now on!

GBBD - MARCH 2016

The weather was so hot all this while. Slowly it's shifting towards wet season. Most of evening is raining here. I must be so thankful for this weather change!

I took these photos late evening. Therefore some of the photos look a bit dark. Most of the flowers have drop down or have spent the days.

Petola flowers are blooming brilliantly. The flowers only bloom in the evening. I hope night insect can help to pollinate them!

Hibiscus after evening shower!

self seeded Torenia in hibiscus cutting pot. They are welcomed!

Bougainvillea in ball shape!

My favorite dessert rose!

Petola Harvest

Petola plants have been producing a lot of flowers! Most of them are male flowers. There are more male flowers compare to female flowers. There must be a reason for nature to produce many male than female flowers.....I wonder why...

Petola in the making! It look so promising! The garden is producing good harvest after so long!

Petola has sweet taste. The flesh is white and soft. They taste good by just saute with garlic and onion!

GBBD - April 2012

Here are some of the flowers blooming in my garden now. Here in Malaysia, we don't have 4 season, so flowers bloom all year around. The minus point is that , I can't grow all the spring flowers like Tulips, Irises, Lavender, etc in my garden due to the weather which can reach up to average 31 Deg C everyday.

This is Plumeria . It's putting up a lot of flowers but no smell at all......

 Bougainvillea bloom in dawn....

Marigold blooms are inviting a lot of bees to my garden!

Costus with the unique flowers.

My precious pink rose! This is the only hardy type I have in my garden

Hibiscus all over the little plant about my knee height

 Cape honeysuckle and white periwinkle

I want to add some vegetable flowers too here! They are pretty comparatively!

Angle luffa @ Petola

This is my 3rd attempt to grow Petola. The 2 previous attempt was unsuccessful. Beetle bite and ate all the leaves and left my plant in sorry state. I was not aware of the damage until it's too late to save the plant. When I'm left with little time, this is what happen to my vegetable.

This time, I put effort. I check the leaves and all parts. Now the plant is flowering. I put my finger cross! Hope to see few Petola. There are many young fruits but all turn yellow fall of after few days. Can it be poor pollination?
