Reaching The height!

One of the plant in my garden that i realize grows slowly and steadily is Curry leaf. I pluck some of the leaves for my curries. Once in a while my neighbours will asked some. Strange looking caterpillars eat some...... But the plant continue to grow regardless of all the plucking and eating section!

The ground is covered with Mint. Both are living harmoniously!

It's time of the year that i become busy again for Deepavali. It's raining heavily too here everyday. I let my plants to survive on their own. I don't water them too since it's raining! hahhahaha....Hope not much damage done.

Now you see....now you don't....caterpillars!

It was a big surprise for me to see all my caterpillars missing in action!

On Friday there was many of them! may be 20 of them on my plant. By Saturday morning, left only about 10 and by Sunday early morning all gone!!

I wanted to remove all the caterpillars but my husband told it's already big and soon will change to become butterflies so don't harm them. With half heart i agree with him.....

Unfortunately all gone...... May be bird or bat ate them because they went missing so early in the morning!

Cabbage on plate!

Last weekend I harvested one of the cabbage head. It's only about 12cm in diameter. You can imagine the small cabbage head right!

I saute it with garlic and chilli. It tasted so crunchy and tasty! This photo was taken after we took our lunch. So only little left!.

The true survivor!

I have blogged so many times about my chilli plant which have survived for 2 years and give me a lot of chillies! I have stop buying chillies after having this plant. Powdery mildew/ mealy bug constantly attack it and i always think it won't survive another month but surprisingly it have survived almost 12 months!

My other batch of Chillies have all died back and i have to grow a new batch but this plant is the true survivor!

Euphorbia - propagation

I propagated 2 Euphorbia cuttings 2 weeks back. It was overgrown and bending down due to heavy rain. I never done any before so i started with 2 cuttings.

It's very easy procedure :

1) Cut the tips from mother plant .Be careful about the milky sap.

2) Let it stay on a paper or empty pot for 3-4 hours or 1 day until the milky sap dry out.

3) The cutting is ready to be planted

Few days after planting, it look so unhappy but bounce back after about a week.  I'm planning to propagate few more of the overgrown branches and plant it at a place where my Heliconia was last time. I don't think snake will like this pricky spot anymore ! 

Weekend activity

Firstly i would like to ask if blogspot having any problem with comment box? I have tried to add comments in other blogs but it disappear after i click enter button! ...sigh....

Last weekend i had many ~ "things to be done" in my mind. I thought of doing weeding, shifting my Zinnia plants, transplant some young seedling and tree and so on. However i have to admit that i never do most of it. I don't know how the 48hrs past by! ...sigh....

I only manage to do some weeding and transplant some young seedling and a tree!

Anyway this Butterfly is new to my garden. Do you know it's name?

Mulberry and Zinnia

Mulberry shrubs in my garden grow very slowly. It have to fight space with Zinnia which have terrorize the area!

I'm a bit busy nowadays. I seldom tend the garden beside watering the plant. I can see Zinnia everywhere surrounding the Mulberry plants. I have to remove the Zinnia somewhere so that Mulberries can grow. May be i should slot this work in my weekend activity!

Most of the plants do really need a good sunshine to grow! Chilli plant is one of them. These are chilli plants planted at the shaded area. The mango tree has grow larger and cover most of land. The poor chilli plants are getting minimum sun and thus their growth have been retarded. They are 8mths but look like 1 month plant! I learn from mistake.......

Daun Pandan

Pandan or Pandanus Amaryllifolius is scented leave plant. It's used widely in Asian cooking for the flavouring. The aroma of pandan is caused by the aroma compound 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline which is the same compound found is Basmati rice, white bread, etc

The other day I asked 2 cuttings from my Neighbour. She have bunch of them so fresh and so green. Usually she will cut many of them and distribute to us. She use to tell that they are invasive. I'm more than happy to receive them. Let's see if the weeds can make home in my garden. I do use the leaves a lot too!

Cabbages forming head

My cabbages in another bed! Three in a row. They look so congested. I mistaken the young seedling for Pak choy and planted them so near to each other.

The head are forming now! I wonder how big it would be...
